ABOUT

Suzana Ansar is a British born, classically trained Bengali artiste. Having been born and brought up in the UK, Suzana has maintained a strong connection with her Bengali roots and this comes across in her music. She has performed from the age of 3 winning countless singing competitions. Born for the stage and having had North Indian classical training from music guru Pandit Haridas Ganguly and earlier teacher late Golok Mohon Chowdhury, she swiftly made her name in the Bengali music scene being a well known and much loved celebrity with non-resident Bengalis globally.

She sings in many music genres ranging from Kheyal, Thumri, Bangla folk, Nazrul Geeti, Kawali, Sufi and Bhajan, as well as being able to sing in any Asian language. Her main influences derive from Asian, Arabic and Western styles.

Born to British Bangladeshi parents, UK community activist Jenney Ansar and chartered accountant/businessman Mohamed Ansar Uddin she is one of two children. Having been private school educated in London, she has a degree from London University, and has worked in the banking sector.
